Since opening in Newlands in 1982, Tai Ping has grown from a neighbourhood Chinese restaurant into a much-loved Cape Town institution. For more than four decades, generations of families have gathered around our food, celebrated special occasions and returned for the familiar dishes and flavours that became part of their own family traditions.
Today, Tai Ping begins a new chapter as a dedicated Chinese takeaway. While our sit-down restaurant has closed, the heart of Tai Ping remains unchanged: trusted recipes, quality ingredients, generous portions and food freshly prepared with the same care our customers have known for years.
Customers can order for collection or enjoy their favourites at home through our delivery partners. It may be a new way of serving Cape Town, but it is still the Tai Ping taste people have loved since 1982.
